President Trump begged the Mexican president to stop saying his government would not pay to build a border wall “because I cannot live with that,” according to a new report on Thursday.
“You cannot say that to the press,” Trump told President Enrique Pena Nieto, according to a transcript of a Jan. 27 call between the two leaders obtained by the Washington Post.
Trump told Nieto that the wall — a major campaign promise — was “the least important thing we are talking about, but politically this might be the most important.”
Trump threatened to cut off communication with the Mexican leader if he continued to say he wouldn’t pay for the wall.
“I​f you are going to say that Mexico is not going to pay for the wall, then I do not want to meet with you guys anymore because I cannot live with that​,” Trump said, according to the report.
He said the funding “will work out in the formula somehow,” adding “it will come out in the wash and that is OK.”

Snapchat has apologized for approving and promoting an ad which asked users if they “would rather slap Rihanna or punch Chris Brown.” The ad, featured on the California-based social media platform, appeared to reference Brown’s conviction for assaulting Rihanna in his car after a pre-Grammy party in 2009. Rihanna, pictured posing with long red locks, is positioned next to the phrase “Slap Rihanna.” Brown is positioned directly under her, appearing to dance, next to the phrase “Punch Chris Brown.” Shocked Snapchat users took to other social media platforms to express their disgust and question why the ad was created in the first place. A Snapchat spokesperson told Sun Online: “The ad was reviewed and approved in error as it violates our advertising guidelines. We immediately removed the ad last weekend, once we became aware. Hillary Clinton said Friday night that half of the supporters for her rival Donald Trump are a “basket of deplorables.” Clinton made the remarks at an LGBT fundraiser in Manhattan and urged supporters to “stage an intervention” if they have friends who might vote Trump. “You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the ‘basket of deplorables,’” Clinton said. “The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic — you name it.” Clinton also charged that Trump has “given voice” to white nationalist and anti-Semitic ideas by re-tweeting their “rhetoric.’’ The Trump campaign said that with the remarks Clinton “revealed her true contempt for everyday Americans.”
